Brew with the Sun
There’s something beautifully simple about letting the sun do the work. One of our favorite summer rituals returns each year when the days stretch long and the herbs call us in: it’s time for Solar Flare Sun Tea.
This vivid, spiced blend is an old favorite from our founder, Lauren Haynes. Equal parts cooling and invigorating, it’s bold in flavor and rich in herbal benefits, and it’s steeped in sunshine.
✹ Solar Flare Sun Tea
A cooling, carmine-hued herbal infusion for summer afternoons.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp dried hibiscus
- 1 tbsp dried cinnamon chips
- 1 tbsp dried ginger
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a quart jar or heat-safe glass container.
- Cover with freshly boiled water or let it steep in direct sunlight for 2–4 hours. (If sun-steeping, make sure your jar is sealed tight!)
- Once steeped to your liking, strain and chill.
- Serve over ice, with a twist of citrus if you’re feeling fancy.
Why we love it:
- Hibiscus offers a tart, tangy flavor and vibrant ruby color.
- Cinnamon chips bring warmth and sweetness.
- Ginger adds a zippy kick that’s perfect for digestion and keeping your energy flowing.
This blend is naturally caffeine-free and perfect for sipping all day long. Make a batch in the morning, and by the time the sun hits its peak, your tea will be ready — a little gift from the herbs, and the sun.
