Learn the folklore and medicinal properties of beautiful wildflowers.
This December join us for a gathering & day spent learning herbalism & folk medicine. For this one day gathering in Chattanooga, TN held at Beth's home, Local Milk is teaming up with apothecary Wooden Spoon Herbs to host a day devoted to flower essences, elixir making, gathering around the table, and rejuvenation in preparation for the new year.
We will meet in the morning and get to know one another over cups of Wooden Spoon's foraged teas and homemade yogurt & granola from Beth's kitchen.
Then, during the first half of the day, herbalist & medicine maker Lauren Haynes, the woman behind Wooden Spoons, will teach us about the energetic medicine of flower essences, and we'll meditate & create our own energetic medicine together while Beth sets the table & prepares a vegetarian long table lunch with a menu inspired by florals & healing herbs.
During the second half of the day we'll get hands on & creative, making intentional elixirs to guide us in the coming year. There will be a homemade flower essence bar that Lauren has created, and she'll show us how to dream up and prepare an elixir as well as share the history behind this beautiful folk medicine.
After we've made & bottled our elixirs to take home with us, we'll enjoy an herbal cocktail & plate of local cheeses before saying farewell for the evening. Each person will take home a healing Tea Ritual Kit that includes tea, a crystal, flower essence, a tea strainer, and a tea cup from local ceramicists Bean & Bailey.
